A wooden picture from your own photo is a laser-engraved portrait, engraved in Finland onto Finnish birch plywood. It is perfectly suited for immortalising a picture of a pet — a dog, cat or other beloved animal — and is a popular gift for a pet owner.
How does the photograph affect the final result
The quality of the engraving depends directly on the quality of the photograph you send. For the best results, you should:
- the photo is taken from close up, so that the pet's head and facial features are clearly visible
- the image is sharp and clear (no motion blur)
- lighting is even and adequate, allowing the details of the coat and the expression in the eyes to be seen
- a larger canvas size brings out even more detail, so an imprecise or distant photo is not suitable for a large canvas
The sharper and closer-up the photo is, the better the laser engraving will reproduce your pet's expression and details.
Material and manufacture
The plaque is laser-engraved onto Finnish birch plywood in Finland. As wood is a natural material, each plaque is slightly unique — minor variations in the grain pattern or tone compared to the product images are normal and do not affect the quality of the engraving.
Fixing options
You can choose the picture with a wall mounting or a stand, allowing it to be placed on a table or shelf, for example.

What kind of picture is best suited for a pet's wooden plaque?
The best result comes from a photo taken close to the pet's head, in sharp focus and good lighting. This ensures the engraving clearly replicates the details of the fur and the expression in the eyes.
Can the picture be hung on the wall?
Yes. During the ordering process, you can choose either wall mounting or a stand, allowing the picture to also be placed on a table or shelf.

Returns and exchanges policy
Our online shop has a 14-day exchange and return policy. The exchange and return policy does not apply to customised products as the product is made according to the information provided by the customer. The person returning the product must pay the costs arising from the return. These costs will not be refunded to the person making the return. For returns, the refund will be made to the payment method used for the order (not, for example, by bank transfer).
Delivery time
The processing time is generally 2–4 working days, depending on the quantity, complexity and size of the products. After this, the product is delivered via Posti or Matkahuolto, and the delivery itself takes about another 2–4 working days.
Once your order has been placed, you will receive an order confirmation by email. When the item is ready and a shipping label is created, you will also receive a tracking code. You can conveniently track the progress of your parcel in the Oma Posti app or the Matkahuollon Paketit app.
So the total delivery time is about 4 to 8 working days from order to delivery.
